30 kaduna Women Entrepreneurs to participate in 2nd phase of Academy for Women Entrepreneurs.

The United State Embassy is to train 20 Kaduna women in its 2nd phase of Academy for Women Entrepreneurs, (AWE).
Amina Lawal of Toes to Heels Initiative disclosed during the screening of 30 applicants on December 15, 2020.
She added that the project is in conjunction with KAD ICT Hub and a White House led initiative designed to empower women Entrepreneurs worldwide with the skills and resources to bring their bright entrepreneurial ideas to life thereby creating conditions for increased stability security and prosperity all.
Ms Lawal further said the intensive program is scheduled to run from December 2020 – March 2021.
According to her, “Through AWE, women entrepreneurs participate in a facilitated entrepreneurship program supplemented with localized content as well as networking and mentorship opportunities.
“AWE is centered around the online training program DreamBuilder, developed through a partnership between Arizona states University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and global copper mining company FreePort-McMoRan.
“The program equips women with the tools needed to create and grow their own businesses raise capital, and effectively network with other successful business owners.”
A beneficiary of the phase 1 AWE programme, Anita Nchat Kevin of Amina Dyslexia Centre, who won $1000 said the programme to her is not about the grant, but the relationship she was able to established during the training.
She added that her participation in the phase 1of the programme is an eye-opener to her as an entrepreneur.
Speaking in the same vein, Salma Tanko Abdullahi, said as an entrepreneur she decided to join the programme to groom her confectionery business.
