“Worthy of mention is that in 2021, UNDP and the Government of Norway will empower 500 women and youth, victims of violence, in the three states to acquire lifelong skills and establish small-scale businesses.
“This is in addition to other laudable programmes that are ongoing in these states,” he said.
Speaking on the CEWER, Alao, said it will help the government and security agencies to drastically reduce the rate of conflict in the state; pointing out that for this to be achieved, the system should be widely publicized and the citizens empowered to volunteer information to the system.
“Government must, as a priority, invest more on the system to ensure that it functions 24 hours daily by deploying more competent manpower to man the system and create a functional governance structure that would ensure timely and adequate responses to.all profiles of signals sent into the system.
” The facilities for the system must be expanded to include other technological features that might not have been covered under this intervention, such as, awesome voice recorder (AVR) and free toll lines, as well as, a permanent accommodation.”
