MSMEs pinnacle to solving insecurity in Nigeria — Don

Director of Entrepreneurship Research and Development Centre, Kaduna State University, Prof. Helen Afang Andow has said Small and Medium-scale Enterprises( MSMEs) are the solution to solving the security challenges bedeviling the country.
She made the assertion during the 2021 World Enterpreneurs’ day celebration organized by the Enterprise Development Centre( EDC) in Kaduna on 21st August 2021.
According to her many of the youths involved in Banditry, Kidnapping, and other criminalities can be self-employed through the Sector, Even though, unemployment is not an excuse in involving in such an act
The Don further said the MSMEs play a bulk role in the development of the country, hence explained there is a need to support the sector to overcome its numerous challenges.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Let’s go to the market! Buy and sell’, she commended EDC for organizing such an opportunity to bring in Micro, Small, and Medium Business owners in Kaduna for networking and partnership
She called on the Government to be lenient in some policies in other to encourage the sector( MSMEs) to grow.
In her brief remarks, the Alumni Coordinator, EDC community manager, Nnenna Aguw said, ‘let’s go to market! Buy and sell’, is a platform created by Enterprise Development Centre( EDC) for Micro, Small and Medium business owners to come together in other to create an atmosphere for networking and products exhibitions.
A participant at occasion who is into the processing of high local spices, Nafeesat Muhammad Nasir appreciated the gathering.
She said it is a golden opportunity for all small, medium business owners to showcase their products.
