CNPP rejects outcome of Kaduna LG Polls

The Conference of Political Parties (CNPP) Kaduna State Chapter has rejected the outcome of the Saturday,4th September Local Government Polls in the state because of some abnormalities.
The Secretary-General CNPP Hon. Umar Farouk Ibrahim (Mairaqumi) Stated this in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna on 5th September 2021.
The statement stated that there are cases of votes buying during the election, saying they observed an apparent display of cash at the voting units.
The statement added that this characterized the behavior of political parties particularly the party in power and unfortunately, security personnel turns blind and deaf ears to their calls.
The statement further stated that
unfortunately, the conduct of the election was marred by fraud, inadequacies and also characterized by apparent malfunctions and outright failures of the electronic voting machine (EVM) to functions at the polling units.
“As a result of the failure of the electronic voting machine (E\TM) election in the following Local government areas and their wards can never be said to be conclusively conducted in the following LGAs and polling units
Local government areas/polling units Zaria LGA Unit 107, Sabon Gari LGA, Unit 40, Igabi LGA Unit 140, Kudan LGA Unit 47, and Makarfi LGA Unit 35.
Others LGA included Ikara 43, Jaba 76, Soba 58, Kaduna North 47, Kaduna South 58, Jamma 49, Sanga 47, Lere 37, Giwa 42, and Kachia 51.
“While we appreciate the efforts of the commissioner police and other senior security officers, however, their men at the polling units and collection centers have been compromised and taken a side in the conduct
” f their duties. While we made this clarion call and patriotic appeal, political parties are Consulting their lawyers to seek legal redress where necessary.” the statement reads
