Students laments Inadequate Digital facilities in Kaduna School
As the world marked International Girls child Day with the theme ‘Digital Generation, Our Generation’, Girls students from various Schools in Kaduna state has expressed dismay their generation might not witness the digital transformation because of lack of needed types of equipment
The students stated this during a Media-parley put together by the Kaduna State Social Protection Accountability Coalition and supported by Save the Children International in Kaduna on 12th October, 2021.
The Student from Senior Government Girls Secondary School, Maimuna Gwarzo said the students with average students of 120 per class make learning unconducive and boredom on the teacher.
They also said the school with a population of over three thousand students has a total of 20 computers for practicals
Other issues worrisome to the students are Lack of power and teachers.
“Even if we have all these Digital facilities, there is no power supply of any time in the school”.
In her response, the Social Inclusion Officer of SCI in Kaduna, Mrs. Eunice Victor explained that girl-child marriage kills more than 60girls a day, and an estimated 44% of girls in Nigeria are married before their 18th birthday, one of the highest rates of child marriage globally.
