The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA) yesterday distributed 500 health insurance cards to beneficiaries in the state.
The Director General of the Scheme, Abubakar Hassan said the beneficiaries were drawn from Kaduna South Federal Constituency, courtesy of the lawmaker representing the constituency Muktar Morovia.
Hassan said the lawmaker enrolled 500 beneficiaries from his Constituency.
He advised the beneficiaries to make use of the cards by going to their selected health facilities to access health services and to also keep it safe.
He said the scheme has decided to recognize the lawmaker with an award for his enrollment into the scheme.
” We are recognizing him for the good job he has done.
“It is recognition that when you do something good people will motivate you, we gave this recognition to Hon Monrovia for believing in the scheme that the government has just put up.
” We are using this opportunity to get others to keen on this health scheme.
“Today we have just finalized the first 500 he promised and he also promised 90 to do 30-30-30 so three months down the line he has promised to do 90.
The Director General called on members of the society to emulate the good gesture by the lawmaker and registered residents for improved well-being.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on other politicians and well-to-do residents of Kaduna, and religious organizations to support the vulnerable in Kaduna and to also come out and support the efforts of the government towards ensuring that residents of Kaduna have ease of access to healthcare services in the state.
“This recognition is a sort of motivation to encourage him and others to do more. He said.
In his response, the lawmaker, Hon. Mukhtar Morovia said vulnerable, persons with disability (PWDs), and pregnant women are his priority in improving their health.
The lawmaker said the beneficiaries were selected from all the wards that make up Kaduna South Federal Constituency.
He said the decision to enroll the beneficiaries followed the challenges in the health sector, especially as they affect the grassroots.
