A group under the auspices of North -West APC support Group, has thrown its weight behind Senator Umar Tanko Almakura for the position of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress( APC) in the forth coming National Convention of the party.

The National Coordinator of the group, Mallam Yusuf Idris Amoke made the assertion during a press conference held in Kaduna.

According to him, the crisis bedeviling the party from the days of Mr. Oyegun up to date, most especially now that Mr. President is out of the contest as a result of his completion of the two-term tenure as President of Nigeria is no longer news.

He added that at a trying time like this, APC needs a bridge builder, a detribalized Nigerian with a high sense of responsibility with the needed experience and exposure to lead it right.

“We need a unifying figure, a peacemaker, and a gentleman to take us out of the woods. All of these characteristics we found in Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura.

” He is a businessman who understands the value of money, a governor who understands the taste of victory under opposition central government as well as under ruling government, and a father who understands the plight of his children.

“The above qualities and more led us to an uncontemplating conviction that with Sen. Almakura, our party will come out stronger and better to lead this country out of the dungeon of unrest and economic stagnation the PDP led us into.

” The NORTH-WEST APC SUPPORT GROUPS on this day declare openly and emphatically our support for Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura for the National Chairman of our party, APC” the Statement reads
