Apostle Yakubu Yusuf of House of Purpose Ministry U/Sunday Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State has urged Nigerians, especially Christians to reflect on the reason for the season and the teachings of the Holy Bible, by showing love, Care and Sharing with neighbours, and ensuring peaceful co-existence.
He stated this while speaking to the media in Kaduna on 19th December, 2021.
According to him, many people are caught up in Christmas celebrations each year, but do not understand the truth about the season.
He urged the Christians to use the moment to pray for Kaduna State and the country at large, and also show kindness to the less privileged by sharing gifts as shown in the Bible when the three wise men came to visit Jesus when he was born.
The Cleric said presenting gifts to the less Privileged as well as preaching the words of God would go a long way in wiping away their tears and strengthening their faith in God and the gospel.
He said Christmas is a period for self-assessment using the Bible teachings of Jesus Christ as the yardstick and showing love, Care and Sharing with neighbours.
The Cleric said the Bible in Deuteronomy 6:5 shows that Love is the Mystery to Profit on this earth, saying anyone who desires God’s blessing must love God and his creatures.
Apostle Yakubu added that as Christians celebrate the miracle of the birth of Christ every Dec. 25 to express joy at the wonders Jesus’ coming has brought to the world by remembering their neighbours
He appealed to all Christians to use the festive season to pray fervently for the country to overcome the insecurity bedeviling and for the celebration to be peaceful.
