Femi Mustapha
A Group  under  auspices of  SABIL Charitable International Organization  (SCIO) has said hijab-wearing is a command from the holy Quran  all Muslims women.
An Exoffcio of the organization, Saudatu Nuhu Maiwada   asserted this while speaking to the media in Kaduna.
She explained that hijab-wearing is a command from the holy quran an as she quoted a verse where Allah commanded the Prophet that, his wives, daughters and every believers must cover their bodies.
“Every woman of faith has been commanded by God to dress decently by covering not exposing sensitive parts of their bodies
“indecent and/or sexy dressing among women folk, particularly those who attained puberty contributed at least 80% to the escalation of fornication and adultery among married, divorcees and singles in the society”
Hajia Maiwada  warned all educational institutions and other agencies to stop harassing female Muslim students on the basis of wearing Hijab.
She said that those female Muslim students chose not to dress immodestly but adorn themselves in Hijab  commanded by Allah in the Glorious Qur’an.
She also called for an end to all forms of hostility and discrimination against female Muslims who wears hijab in public places.
She said, “Discrimination against Hijab anywhere in the world is discrimination against modesty.
“Hijab is our Crown not a Crime, Hijab wearing Muslims in Nigeria has not erred or committed any crime in the constitution for upholding the right to wear their God’s given crowns, hence, the harassment, assault, persecution and molestation in all forms in private or public places must stop.
“As we mark World Hijab Day 2022, there’s the need to again reiterate our call to all those who have continued to demonstrate open hatred and animosity for the use of hijab and even niqab to exhibit religious tolerance and allow Muslim females to freely follow their religious teachings.
“As Muslims, we will never oppose anyone who is living by the dictates of his or her faith because freedom of religion is guaranteed in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Speaking of people who hide under the hijab to commit crimes, Hajia Maiwada stressed that, in every religion there is always bad people and good ones, hence the action of the few bad ones should not be a yardstick to judge the good ones.
