The Northern Consensus Movement (NCM) has described the appointment of service chiefs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as suitable and believes it will change the security landscape of the nation, leading to positive results.
During a telephone interview with journalists in Kaduna, the National President of the movement, Comrade Auwalu Abdullahi Aliyu, asserted this.
He, however, enjoined the new officers at the helm of security in the country to understand that they are serving the country, not President Tinubu. Therefore, they should bring their proven years of experience to move the nation forward.
The NCM President stressed that, considering their vast experience in security issues, the new service chiefs have a lot to offer towards enhancing security in every part of the nation.
He opined that there is also fairness in their appointments, reflecting federal character.
Furthermore, achieving synergy in the security sector is crucial. He advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to go further and ensure the implementation of security sector reform and security sector governance.
Comrade Aliyu also called on President Tinubu to be fair to all Nigerians in steering the affairs of the country.
As a leader for all Nigerians, President Ahmad Bola Tinubu should be seen as giving every part of the country fair treatment for peace, unity, and progress, he said.
Comrade Auwalu Aliyu described President Tinubu as a wise leader with proven integrity who is equal to the task.
He advised him to remain committed and unwavering in dealing with pressing national issues that might be brought before him to ensure focused and purposeful leadership that uplifts the nation.
To the new leaders of the National Assembly, Comrade Auwalu Aliyu urged them to fear Allah in all their undertakings for peace, unity, and progress of the country.
