As the storm over the non-confirmation of the Former Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir El Rufai, continues to generate heat, a group under the auspice of the APC Movement has expressed solidarity with the former governor and called on the Upper Chamber to clear him.
The North Central Coordinator of the Group Comrade Hassan Aliyu asserted this while speaking to the media in Kaduna.
Comrade Aliyu said the Movement, which has its base in the North West, North East, and North Central, are surprised by the action of the Senate which they described as unjust.
The Movement also wondered why the Senate would choose to work against the party’s interest.
They said from his days as Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Kaduna State Governor, El-Rufai have served to the best of his abilities with unquestionable zeal and energy.
“El-Rufai’s foresight, wisdom, and an unusual capacity to mobilize people and resources to actualize dreams stand him out in leadership and administration
“The group equally wondered why there was no security report against El-Rufai through the electioneering, only for some overzealous security agencies working for enemies of the state to spring up imaginary security reports that are nothing but fictitious imaginations concocted to tarnish the image of the nominee and Deprived him of enjoying their hard work,” He said
Similarly, the Movement also advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode in his administration, saying he played pivotal roles, ensuring that Tinubu secured victories not only in his wards but states and the nation at large and must not be treated with utmost disrespect
The Movement added that it is on record that during the elections, Fani Kayode demonstrated his commitment to the party’s success and he deserves to be rewarded and not to be used and dumped.
