The Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Kaduna State, Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha has said
many Nigerian politicians have been called elder statesmen, but the Former Governor of old Kaduna State late Balarabe Musa, was most deserving of that title.

He asserted this during a press conference held in remembrance of the late elder Statesman in Kaduna today.

According to him the late politician who passed away at the age of 84 on 11th November 2019 in every practical respect, lived a simple, ascetic, and spartan life devoid of the opulence and corruption that typically characterize the life of the average Nigerian

He added that the late Musa reflected the passion and vigor that heralded Nigeria’s independence, which steadily translated into activism for the return to democracy at the height of military interregnum, and had remained steadfast in the call for good and inclusive governance.

The IPAC Chairman stressed that Balarabe Musa left a bold footprint on Nigeria’s democracy, adding his role in promoting good governance and development would always be remembered and appreciated by posterity.

“In a clime still plagued by money politics, Musa’s odyssey was indeed exemplary. He lived and died within his means and never at any time sought political office to advance his economic fortunes.

“He was a man of the people in the strictest sense of the word. Sadly, people like Musa are becoming rare in the polity. We mourn the passing of this great patriot and urge the Federal Government and the Kaduna State government to honor his memory. May his soul rest in sweet repose.’

He was a staunch member of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), and never shied away from making recommendations to better the Nigerian polity, even after, plagued by health issues, he quit his position as Chairmanship and natured young generation to take over

“I am a beneficiary of that project and forever Balarabe Musa will be my role model My Prayer is for Allah to continue to grant him peace and make paradise his abode,” He said.
