The Local Government Accountability Mechanism (LGAM), Kaduna state, has announced the postponement of its already scheduled Public Policy Dialogue on Strengthening Local Government Fiscal Sustainability and Service Delivery in honour of Kaduna State House of Assembly Member, Honorable Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, who was killed by bandits along Zaria -Kaduna Highway.
Honorable Gadagau, until his death was the Member representing Giwa west constituency of Kaduna state, and, Chairman, House committee on Local government.
This was contained in a statement signed by Yusuf Ishaku Goje and made available to media on 17th December 2021.
The statement stated that, LGAM
received the news of the gruesome killing of the Lawmakers with unbelievable shock and deep sad.
According to the statement, it is a great loss not just to his family and constituency but also to the State and nation as a whole.
“He was not only a young and dynamic leader but, also represents the aspiration of many young people in Kaduna state.
We recall with nostalgia the advocacy visit we recently paid to him, as Chairman House Committee on Local Government, towards fostering partnership in strengthening transparency and accountability in Local Government administration in Kaduna state.
“He had enthusiastically assured us of not just his willingness but a commitment to the partnership. Indeed, we mourn the untimely death of a friend to the civil society and partner in progress
“We will equally forward our condolence letter to the Kaduna State House of Assembly. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and the entire state”, the statement reads.
Meanwhile, it revealed that the Public Policy Dialogue on Strengthening Local Government Fiscal Sustainability and Service Delivery, has been rescheduled to the second week of January 2022.
