KADCHMA enrolls 16,000 pensioners in health insurance.

The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority ( KADCHMA) in collaboration with the State Pension Bureau is making efforts to have health insurance coverage for 16,000 pensioners in the State.
The Director General of KADCHMA, Abubakar Hassan disclosed this when he received executive Secretary of Kaduna State Pension Bureau, Professor Salamatu Idris Isa, and Executive members of the Nigerian Union Pensioners Kaduna State chapter in his office.
The KADCHMA Director General said the action will lift the burden of out-of-pocket health spending from the pensioners
According to him, the modality is been worked out that vulnerable pensioners benefited from the 1% consolidated Funds for the vulnerable.
Mallam Hassan added that with the establishment of PHCs facilities in 255 wards of the state by Governor Nasiru El Rufai the pensioners are assured of service wherever they are.
He added that this development will lift many pensioners and their families out of the health miseries some of them are facing.
Similarly, the state Secretary
General of NUP Comrade Alhassan Balarabe Musa said the decision to collaborate by the Agency is a welcome development.
According to him, they have long awaited such a moment but the happiness is here. He commended Governor El-Rufai, KADCHMA, and the State Pension Bureau for this laudable initiative.
